Week 8 Tuesday

I am reading the Silver Chair. This book is about Eustace and Jill going to Narnia. I am enjoying this book. It was written by C.S Lewis. I love it and hope to read more later.

Week 8 Monday

Today I am reading the Silver Chair. Just as Eustace and Jill are about to get beat up by bullies they are taken to Narnia. There they meet Aslan. Aslan gives Jill four things to remember. I am really enjoying this book.

Week 7 Thursday

In Gathering Blue you find out Kira has become orphaned. Her mother died after being sick. Her leg is also crippled. She is mourning her mother's death. I am enjoying this book.

Week 7 Monday

I am currently reading Gather Blue. This book is written by Lois Lowry. She is also the author of The Giver. This book is about a girl named Kira. Her leg has been crippled.

Week 6 Tuesday

I am re-reading the Voyage of the Dawn Treader until I can find another book. Unfortunately I have already taken the ar test on it. It was written by C.S. Lewis. I am where Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace first go into the painting. Caspian helped them into the Dawn Treader.

Monday Week 6

I would like to read a book that I have forgotten the name of it. Mrs. Alexander is currently reading it. If she gives the okay, I will read it as soon as possible. It sounds interesting. I can't wait to read it!

Week 5 Thursday

I have again read nothing. Saturday, I am going to the library to get Messenger and Gathering Blue. These books are both on ar. I can't wait to read them. They will really help with my ar goal.

Week 5 Tuesday

I am going to be reading Gathering Blue next. Unfortunately I have not gotten it yet. It is on ar. If it is anything like the Giver I am eager to read it. I will check at the library.

Week 5 Monday

I have finished reading the Giver. It was amazing! I loved it! It is one of my new favorites. Jonas and Gabe make outside of the Community to Elsewhere. Or atleast I hope they did.

Week 4 Thursday

I am reading the Giver. I love this book! I can't help but feel there is something going on in the Community that only the Elders know about. I hope Jonas. I am currently at the beginning of the Ceremony of Twelve. Although no one has been given their Assignment yet.

Week 4 Tuesday

I have unfortunately read nothing. I am sorry. Tomorrow we are starting the Giver. I have yet to find an ar book. I also need to reach my ar goal.

Week 4 Monday

I need to find a new book. I finished the book Devil's Arithmetic again. I've got to reach my ar goal. I may go into Mockingjay again until I can find a book. either that or the Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis. Mrs. Alexander, do you remember the halo book I read earlier? I would like to read the second book, The Flood. Other than content wise I do not see anything wrong. They said it was the same content as the first which I only found a curse word every now and then. I'll talk to you about it sooner or later. I also need my mom's permission.

Week 3 Wednesday

In review for Devil's Arithmetic I have been reviewing and rereading the book. Again, Hannah has gone back in time. Meeting Gitl and Shmuel, who is about to get married, she blames this "dream" on the red wine she drank. While traveling to the church for Shmuel and Fayge's wedding, they meet with Nazis in front of the church. They load them up and bring them to a Concentration Camp.

Week 3 Tuesday

I am reading the book Jesus Freaks. I am re-reading this book for my reaseach paper. It is on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He was a German Christian that was persecuted for harboring Jews. He is very interesting so I am glad to be doing my report on him.

Week 3 Monday

I have finished the book, the Devil's Arithmetic. It was great! I loved the ending. It's nice to know that Hannah saved her aunt and grandfather. There is no telling where they would be now. This book helped me realize the importance of the Holocaust and the Santanic (vocab word) deeds they preformed on innocent Jews. It make me feel horrible for the inhumane things Hitler did to others. The thing is, it was people that did this. I believe Hitler was possessed by the devil himself, but he was an instrument in this genocidal campaign to destroy the Jewish race. Leading these Jews into concentration camps and destroying millions of them. This book has honestly opened my eyes to the horrible thing that mankind will preform against each other. All together the struggle is between God and the devil, but we all know who will this struggle. The sad thing is, the devil is gonna take everyone he can with him to the Lake of Fire. That is why it is our jobs as humans and Christians to help each other and most certainly not preform the same inhumane stunts Hitler himself tried to pull.

Week 2 Thursday

In class we are reading the Devil's Arithmetic. Hannah and Gitl have been sent to the showers at the Concentration Camp. Ordered to strip down, Hannah feared the showers. Thinking they would be scorched by acid, Hannah rejoiced when it was just cold water. After their showers they put on rags for clothes and were tatooed their new "name" on their arm. Hannah's new "name" is, J197241.

Week 2 Tuesday

We are reading the Devil's Arithmetic in class. Hannah and the other Jews have been taken to the Concentration Camps. Hannah knows what is going on, but the Jews do not. The Nazis tricked them into going with them, saying they were moving them to a safer place. I am really enjoying this book.

Week 2 Monday

We are still reading The Devil's Arithmetic. The Nazis have come to take the Jews. The Jews do not know they are going to a Concentration Camp. Hannah has arrived at the Concentration Camp. It is a very intresting book.

Week 1 Thursday

I have finished reading the book Jesus Freaks. This book was written by dc Talk. I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it's not for AR. I will be taking a test on Devil's Arithmetic.

Tuesday Week 1

We are reading the book Devil's Arithmetic in class. Shmel is getting married and he tells Hannah he is nervous. Shmel's friend comes and brings his two kids. He likes Gitl and tries to flirt with her. Although, she does not like him so she is rude to him. Hannah is getting dressed for the wedding.

Monday Week 1

I am reading the book, Devil's Arithmetic. It is about a girl transported back to the times of WWII to experience the Holocaust as a Jew. After disregarding her Jewish heritage, Hannah finds herself back in WWII times while opening the door waiting for the prophet Elijah. I am enjoying this book.

Week 9 Thursday (on Friday)

I am still reading the book Jesus Freaks. As it is all the time people continue dying for Jesus. Refusing to deny Him they are tortured then usually sentenced to death. This book was written by dcTalk. As the book goes on dcTalk continues to say verses and other things about these martyrs.

Week 9 Wednesday (Monday)

I am still reading the book Jesus Freaks. It is pretty much the same. People are getting martyred everyday because they refuse to deny Christ. Which I respect. Christians are persecuted everyday and this book shows how they are.

Week 7 Jesus Freaks

I am still reading the book Jesus Freaks. It is a good book. It was written by DC Talk. Martyrs are dying for Christ everyday. Unfortunately, it is not AR.

Week 8 Tuesday

I am still reading my book, Jesus Freaks. These martyrs refuse to deny their faith. Even though they go through horrible punishments. This book tells of people from Jesus' time to current time. Although this book is kinda old these things still happen today.

Week 8 Monday

I am currently reading the book Jesus Freaks. In this book martyrs are dying left and right. As I get farther in this book the worse the tortures are. But they all die for one thing, and that thing is Jesus Christ. They believe He is worth dying for. Which He is worth all the glory and praise and even those that would rather die then deny Jesus as their Savior. In the words of Paul the Apostle, "For to me, living is for Christ, and dying is even better." Meaning living for Jesus is one thing. Dying for Him is another...

Week 7 Firday (Tuesday)

I don't know if we had to blog on Tuesday or not so just to be safe... I am still reading Jesus Freaks by dc Talk. These martyrs are facing in-human trails. All for declaring their love for Jesus. I have noticed a lot of these stories have happened in a Communist government.

Week 7 Thursday

I am reading the book Jesus Freaks by dc Talk. I am enjoying the messages in these books. The sad thing is this stuff happens even today. These martyrs face things like everyday conflicts to even punishments in Bible times. It is a great book and I have suggested it to many. Unfortunately, it is not on AR.

I am reading this fascinating book. It is called Jesus Freaks. It is written by a band called dc Talk. And yes I meant little dc then Talk. It talks about martyrs that died for thier faith. I don't know if it is AR or not. I hope it is!

Week 6 Thursday

I have finished Lost Hero. They found out Jason was from a camp with Roman demigods. They figured Percy was at the Roman camp with amnesia like Jason had. I don't think I can wait until book two, but I guess I have too! :-( I have reached my AR goal and I am going to start reading The Silver Chair by C. S. Lewis. But for now, I can't stop thinking about Lost Hero. I suggest read that book. It was a great read!

Tuesday Week 6

I am currently reading the Lost Hero. Jason, Leo, and Piper have defeated a giant from Gaia threatining to eat Piper's father. After Zues opened up the mountain with a lightning bolt and cast the giant back into Tartarus a helicopter passed by. Piper convinced the helicopter pilot to give them all a ride to the Oakland Airport. I am really enjoying this book and will most likely finish it tonight!

Week 6 Monday The Lost Hero

 Well over the last couple of days I have read over 400 pages! So, where do I begin? Well Jason awakes to find himself on a bus belonging to the Wilderness School, where the kids are animals. He finds himself holding hands with his girlfriend Piper and his friend Leo. On a field trip to the Grand Canyon wind spirits, or Venti attack the three kids. Long story short, they are searching for Hera after given a quest by the god of Marriage herself. Facing many trials along the way, they are also trying to find and protect Piper's father. Will they prevail in their epic quest to save Hera?

Week 5 Thursday

I am reading the Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis. One character, Jill is crying behind her gym because she has been bullied. This book is 8 AR points. It will help me reach my AR goal. It is also by C.S. Lewis and his books are always interesting.

Week 5 Tuesday

I have currently read nothing today. I am hoping to read the Lost Hero soon. Andrew said I could borrow it so I am hoping to read it soon. I was also shown this Frank Peretti book that I am intrested in, but I do not know if it is AR or not. The Lost Hero will help me get my AR goal.

Week 5 Monday The Fall Of Reach

The book, The Fall of Reach was very interesting. I am finished now and the Master Chief along with Sergeant Johnson and Captain Keyes escaped from Reach. Unfortunately the fall of Reach was iminent and The Master Chief and his commrades saw that and fled from the battle just as the planet was glassed by the Covenant. As they fled they found an ancient Forerunner (neither Covenant, nor human) weapon. This weapon or Halo could wipe out the entire human race along with every planet they inhabit. While a greater threat could wipe out the entire human race with out firing the ring of Halo, but only by one spore. These humans have found the Flood.

Week 5 Monday

I have continued my reading in The Fall of Reach. The Covenant, the alien life-forms trying to wipe out the human race have found Reach and are attacking it. The Spartans jump into to save the second-most populated planet in the the entire human universe. (besides Earth) The Master Chief and his team of Spartans are fighting in the cities of New Alexandria and Visegrad. If the Covenant destroy Reach there will be nothing standing between Earth and the Covenant.

Tuesday Week 4

Post #50! Woo-Hoo! Unfortunately, I have read nothing. I hope to take the Where the Red Fern Grows AR test as soon as it is activated. Hopefully that is soon. I'm going to continue reading my book, The Fall of Reach soon as well.

Week 4 Monday

I finished Where the Red Fern Grows. The ending was sad. I guess it was good that Old Dan and Little Ann were trying to protect Billy, but it was still sad. I could have cried. When both Old Dan and Little Ann died and the red fern grew I was happy, but sad. I loved this book and would gladly read it again.

Week 2 Friday (Thursday)

Unfortunately I was not able to blog last night, but I am still reading. We are almost finished with Where the Red Ferns Grow. I will finish it tonight. Old Dan and Little Ann have gotten in a fight with a mountain lion, and they won. But they struggled with the mountain lion to protect Billy. After defeating the mountain lion Old Dan and Little Ann are suffering with serious consequences.

Tuesday Week 2: Where the Red Fern Grows

While Billy refused the kill the Ghost Coon the Pritchards dog came along and tried to kill the coon, but Billy refused to let them kill the coon. After Old Dan and Little Ann got in a fight with Old Blue, the Pritchards Hound, Rubin picks up Billy's ax and tries to kill Billy's dogs. Billy refuses, but after Rubin gets hit between the legs with a stick he falls to the ground. Billy has to pull his dogs off of Old Blue in order to keep them from killing the dog. When Billy goes back to Raine after he restrains his dogs Raine has a look of shock on his face and soon Billy sees why. After Raine runs off Billy goes of to Rubin to find he has been pierced in the stomach by Billy's ax. After removing the ax from Rubin's body Rubin dies. It's actually very sad thinking about it.

Week 2 Thursday

We are reading Where the Red Fern Grows in class. Billy has cut down that giant sycamore tree and his dogs killed the coon. And he had some help. But not from a person, from God. Now Billy has found out he can sell his coon-skin hides for money, big money. I am really enjoying this book so far.

Tuesday Week 2

We are still reading Where the Red Fern grows. I am enjoying it even more than yesterday. Billy finally got his dogs. He has a brave boy puppy and a smart girl puppy. They make a great combination already even as puppies. Billy and his puppies are going to make a great hunting team!

Reading Blog Week 2: Where the Red Fern Grows

As a class we are reading Where the Red Fern Grows. I am enjoying this book so far which is good because we are only in the beginning. Billy wants some coon-hounds and keeps begging his parents for two of them. He has found a Sportsman's Magazine and has found an ad for coon-hound pups for $25. I hope Billy gets his coon-hounds. He seems to want them pretty bad.
